Finally got my CO2 setup finished!

A while back I made some posts on getting my TC420 to work with the Fluval 2.0 LED.

Well, I've finally got everything together to add a solenoid control for my CO2 system on the TC420. Get everything connected, debugged, and programed - working great now!

Here's how I connected the Solenoid valve to channel 3 of the TC420. I used a diode to ensure that when the solenoid is switched off, there is no voltage spike to the TC420.

Got ahold of a victor regulator, it is very nice. Probably will replace the metering valve - would love something with more adjustment range.

Oh, and here's the tank - Finally ready to add water! Everything up top is my wife's work, everything down below is mine...

Bump: And for those interested, here's a partial list of parts used in the CO2 system build:

Regulator: Victor SR253B sourced from EBay
Solenoid: 24VDC solenoid valve from Amazon
Wiring connector for the solenoid: 2pin waterproof connector from amazon
Diode: 1N4002 (amazon)
one-way valve: from greenleaf aquariums
bubble counter: Cal Aqua double counter
Diffuser: Cal Aqua inline diffuser

Minor suggestion:
You have an atypical metring/needle valve and it may or may not be sufficient control.
One suggestion is an SMC-AS1000 or Camozzi equiv in-line (usually m5/hose barbs) for finer control..
Cheap add-on in the sub $20 range.

no need to change anything..

Next thing:
I assume you have the TC set NOT to ramp correct?
Not sure how the solenoid would handle PWM........

Very nice clean setup!
when Co2 injector clogs, try replacing with something easy to clean (advice from experience!)

Oh man, so the fanciest part of my setup (the diffuser) will clog and be difficult to maintain? Bummer.

thanks for the referral on the metering valve - I'll try that one. And yes, I set the TC420 to NOT ramp. The solenoid would handle it just fine, it just wouldn't turn on until the PWM gets to about 50% or so.
