Use airline tube held together with check valves. Fishing line tied around suction cups works too.

Would that work for small floaters? Salvinia, duckweed frogbit.

I've seen people who use small diameter acrylic tube and bend it with a heat gun. It looks pretty good since it is transparent

That sounds great, but a little costly.

I used both in this tank. Had the airline tube circle on the right held to the glass with a suction cup and then fishing line tied to it going to a suction cup on the left.

At craft stores and even Wal-Mart you can find plastic canvas that is extremely cheap and can be cut to any shape, at hobby Lobby I even found small circular ones I've cut the center out and basically for $2 I had floating rings I put my more s ensative floaters in and let the duckweed surround that, also I poked java moss through the holes in the canvas and made it even less seen so looks like a moss ring. If you buy the bigger canvas sheets, can even cut to fit entire side of tank surface so doesn't turn in surface agitation and keeps the center of tank well lit for other plants below😉👍

Bump: *side note: plastic canvas is found in needle point/yarn areas of Wal-Mart and other stores
