Question DIY help: extending Eheim Installation set tubes *PIC*

Long story short, I want to extend the tubes of Eheim Installation set 1 & 2 (16/22mm). I'd hate to have to buy another installation set, just to get the extension tubes.
My tank has thick lips, it's only possible to run the in/out tubing from the back center opening. However I want to have intake on the left hand side of the tank and outtake on the right hand side of the tank.

The problem is, the tubes have different diameter on each end. With one end being slightly larger than the other.

Somebody must've done this before... I'd really appreciate any hint/suggestions.

Thanks in advance

You can buy just the spray bar tubes with out buying the entire installation kit. Just snap it all together.

This is what I want to achieve (before & after):

From www.eheimparts.com:
4009610 (2 ext. tubes) - $14.60
-> need 3 set
4009630 (90deg bend) - N/A (only sold as installation set?)
-> need 2 pcs

I'm afraid to see the total cost + shipping

You might want to consider some 90 degree elbows from the hardware store instead of picking up the part from Eheim, if they don't sell it individually.

BTW, which canister are you using them on (assuming 2026)?

bigpow,

Why not use the green Eheim flex hose with some nylon straps? Cut the intake and output tubes just under the waters surface, slip the flex hose over the tubing. Route the flex hose where you want it, securing it with suction cups. Then insert the spary bar and intake into the hose.

You can, also, get a translucent white plastic tubing at Home Depot or Lowes. You can just heat it over the stove to bend it in what ever shape you want, then drill it for the spray bar and buy a strainer that fits.

Just a couple of ideas.

You can buy the 90's and the extension tubes from Petsmart.com. They are listed with the aquaball.
