Reinforcing Stand Dilemma
A few months back I picked up a Craigslist deal for a 55g to consolidate my existing tanks. The tank is an AGA with matching pine stand.
The kind that is stapled together.
I noticed there is so lateral flex when the tank is off and the floating plywood floor has also separated from the weight of the C-530 cannister (which I will be selling! Too much flow for a blackwater riparium). Tank will be filled to approximately 42-45 gallons.
My dilemma - could I
A- Just use decking screws to secure the joints where it is currently stapled?
B- Build a frame inside and secure that to the existing?
C- Find someone in the Baltimore/York/Lancaster area who has built a stand and go that route?
I live in an apartment and do not have the sharpest eye for how to build a sister frame so looking for any advice here. Am open to having a stand built - just trying to see if I can work with what I got!
