diy co2...overkill?

ive recently added fish to a planted ten gallon tank. before adding fish i switched from two bottles of co2 to just one. but the glass diffuser wont work with just the one bottle. i was wondering if reverting back to the two bottles of co2 would be too much for my rasboras. PLEASE HELP

You should be ok. Its hard to gas out your fish with DIY.

I have used two 2L bottles in a 10 gallon tank in the past.

I am using FOUR 2L soda bottles in my 10g

2 of them have 1tsp yeast in each, the other 2 have 1/2tsp in each.

Do don't worry!! JUst fine!

Using more than one also allows you to swap them out and refill at different times, for a more even level of CO2.

It definitely is possible to gas out your fish with DIY in a 10g. I killed several OTOs and two small "rubberlip plecos" a month ago to this.

I was using a 1 gallon bottle (2/3 full) and using the Champagne yeast recipe. After day two, I noticed my fish not acting right. The catfish-- which are accustomed to swift flowing, high oxygen water--- had died.

I was using my Rena Filstar XP3 as my CO2 reactor.

Just too much. I'm down to a 2L soda bottle and slightly less supercharged formula.
