20 Gallon Stand with 10 Gallon Underneath

I'm looking to put 2x 20 gallon longs and 2-3 10 gallon tanks on a rack. I'd like the 2x 20 gallons to be facing long ways on the top and the 2-3 10 gallons on a bottom level facing either direction. Anyone ever done a stand/rack like this and have ideas or suggestions for how to construct one? I'm going to make it it out of 2x4s and plywood, don't need it to be really fancy.

Since you already know the size and such, you might just go ahead construct with plywood. I lam sure you know the basics, just don't save the cost on nails and wood

I would make the entire rack out of plywood if it were going in the house. The 2x material takes up way too much room. Done right a cabinet made from plywood won't sag and will be more than adequate strengthwise to handle the 5 tanks. In my cabinets I only use screws to act as clamps. The glue joint is stronger than the wood itself. And yes, I've proven that many times to myself. if you do want a strong glue/screw joint use pocket screws. They don't go into the weak end grain of the plywood.

A 20L is 31 inches long. Two side by side is 62. Divide by three and you get just over 20 inches. A 10 is just over 20 inches.

I would build the cabinet/rack to fit the 10s long way and the two 20s will fit just fine.
