New to planted
Sorry if this wasn't a good spot to post this but it does relate. I have a 55 gallon tank, sand substrate, marineland led, power head, driftwood, temperature at 74, filter is a topfin 75 (with the media gutted out, sponge filter on intake tube, the bottom of the filter case is lined with fluval mehanical filter foam and topped with fluval biomedia) as far as plants I have a wall of cabomba, spiralis, crypto wendtii (unsure on this spelling), Java fern attached to driftwood, mid level dwarf sag (the longer stemmed version) and a couple banana lilies. As far as ferts I use seachem tabs, seachem flourish, and flourish Excel. As far as fish go I have 13 black skirt tetras, 13 bloodfin, 13 panda Cory, 2 Bolivian Rams, a small bunch of ghost shrimp, and 4 baby clown Loaches just living the tank for growth period then getting moved to 200 gallon. The only non natural components I have are 2 PVC pipes for the Loaches and pandas to hide in. I just wanted to introduce myself and explain my "DIY HOB UPGRADE" any recommendations you have on my tank will be appreciated as I said I'm new to planted. I do understand the sand can play the roll of not much nutrients but I was also told my fish should supply many of those missing nutrients. Along with the ferts I use. Thanks for any advice!!
