Diy co2

I do not profess to have read every article on DIY CO2 I have read a LOT, far from it making me anything close to expertise it almost has me a gibbering mess on the floor.

Every article I have read uses a 2 liter bottle as the container for the mixture. Is it feasible to utilize a gallon milk jug, and if so would the ingredients be multiplied accordingly, or is it best to work with the ingredients as is and have them in a larger container? I have kept fish in glass boxes for many years but this is my first venture into a planted tank.

Thanks for any and all ideas.

The reason most people use soda bottles is because they are a readily available pressure vessel with a failure point well over 100psi. Most other containers you can't put that kind of pressure in. Diy co2 in it's various forms can hit 50-60psi which still leaves a nice safety margin, but would potentially be past the point of failure on a different container

Now THAT makes perfect sense, thanks for explaining it in a way that I can understand. This makes you the hero of the hour!

For an extension past the hour you would have to apply in person to platform 9 1/2, the one of Harry Potter fame 9 3/4 is the one over to the left side as you come down the stairs. To access the interview room you go through the cafe (do NOT drink the coffee, but the Eccles cakes are to die for) and into the waiting room to your right, wait until you are called. There is no receptionist and do not worry about informing anyone as to your arrival, they KNOW who you are.

The chances of an extension to being the hero of the hour are not great as they are a set of stingy buggers to say the least, but there is no harm in trying!

Best of luck and thanks again
