House improvement noises and aquarium

I'm not sure on which category this falls into, but you DIY people might have some experience with this:

How badly are the aquarium fish affected by noises and vibration that is caused by home improvement? And if needbe and if sufficient, how would you try to minimize the problem without moving the aquarium?

We are planning to remove about 3 inch thick wall from same room where the aquarium resides. I don't know the exact material, but I would say it is about as tough as a brick wall.

Might would cut lighting over the tank and cover tank with blanket's long enough to remove the wall assuming it could be done in a day?
Once cared for a group of Discus that would go off their feed if furniture in the room was re arranged (or so it seemed).
Only kidding a little.

We did some major renovations to our basement. There were lots of vibrations in the floor below the tank- I never noticed the fish acting nervous. However I was very concerned about dust in the air when drywall sanding was done in the same room, and paint fumes throughout the house. I took measures against those.

Ok, good to hear. Yes I will be covering the tank whenever there will be something nasty in the air.
