CO2 Diffusion

I have my CO2 diffusing through a wooden airstone next to the intake of my eheim filter, but the bubbles don't seem to be getting sucked inside, they're still swirling up to the surface. I was thinking of putting the airstone inside the intake basket. Here's how it would work: remove intake basket, attach the CO2 out put to a piece of airline tubing, pull the tubing through the basket, attach a smaller white airstone to the end, replace basket. Would that work? Is there a better idea? I know I can diffuse through a powerhead, but it seems silly to add another piece of equipment if what I have will do the job.

I use the hagen mini elite from petsmart. It was $10.00 shipped to my door. I don't have a canister in that tank, so this is the best option for me.

sent from my phone, because I can't get the internet out in the boonies.

Not familiar to the way you're doing yours, but I have mines through a ceramic glass disc and a mini powerhead above the top of the water level. With this, the tiny co2 gas bubbles rise to the top and enter the powerhead water inlet area and shoots it all over the tank. Very effect for me this way and had this setup running for a few months.

She winks, Let's dance.
