My DIY Light Stand

this LED panel was purchased from ebay. I have been trying to figure out how will I be able to put it above my tank.

Then this pc monitor caught my eye.

If only I can use this stand

Then after a lot of looking and measuring started wrecking it.

I got a harddisk braket for bracing . Pounded it and painted it.

Screwed the plate through the LED panel.

And it now looks like this.

No wonder my plants on this 3 gal is not growing any

The lights were placed on this tank after

Looks like your going to have to practically lay the fixture on the aquarium for it to do you any good though.

Those LEDs do not put out much... Plant growing power.

Add a little black spray paint, and I love it! I have to agree with Ridwake210 though, it doesn't give out a whole lot of "Plant growing power". Atleast from what I have heard.

For a 3 gal, you're prob fine. Might need to be a little lower, though. For any bigger, they are just not very efficient.

I agree with all of you guys. These do not give enough light. I now use it as light for my cube with some shrimps in it. But not to grow plants. Some of the LED's are now busted. So do not buy this LED panel as you will just waste your money LOL. Overstocked is right, it should be only on 3 gal tank or smaller.
