DIY Light legs

Has anyone seen a way to do this? I saw a thread where they bought stainless steel things from Lowes to hold the light above the tank 3 inches or so. They connected to the top of the tank on the sides and then the light can sit on those pegs. Has anyone else seen this thread? I can't find it.

I have a 55 gallon with a 48 inch Coralife t5no light. Anyone know how I can rig this thing up? It has the thin metal pins that pull out as legs but those will not work topless.

Hagen sells those very sturdy mounts that will hold on those metal pins that pulls out. It comes in their Hagen GLO T5 HO lighting system but I'm sure they sell the mounts seperate.

Small picture but you get the idea.

The feet that slide out of the Coralife T5NO fixtures are far to small for the Glo design.

What i have been thinking about doing with my T5NO coralife fixture is to get some thin aluminum and form it around or just maybe under the fixture with a leg coming from the front and the back down to the side of the tank.

Hard to explain i guess.. I'll have to get pictures up once ive done it.

It should work fine. As far as falling off, it won't. With the Glo mounts design, I've even had it all all 4 levels of height levels. No problem. I have a Coralife double fixture. As long as you didn't alter the clips that pulls out it should be fine. Here's some photos I took with my Coralife T5 Double Fixture on the Glo mounts design.
