Rakazaa's DIY Sand waterfall in a planted tank

Hi all!

This is my first post and i wanted to share some videos about my aquarium.

I have built a sand waterfall using a powerhead instead of using the aerator.

Please view the video and let me know what you think?

Also feel free to ask me any questions with regards to my build

PS: i have also uploaded the tutorial in my channel on how i did the waterfall. Please do check it out and share it with your friends! Knowledge is power!

With Love,
Rakazaa

Very nice. I contemplated using this method also but decided against the extra equipment in the tank although it provides an ability for a much increased flow rate of sand over the aeration method.

Dear Dan

This method works with Canister outlet too I have personally tried and tested.

The reason of why I did not continue using a external filters outlet is because my waterfall runs on timers. It turns off during lights out and converts itself as a sleeping cave for my Fishy

When using an Aerator, you also need to use a external pump to make it work. Its both noisy and unsightly
