Need Advice on LED Mix Ratio

I need some guidance in determining LED ratio for my 15" Planted Cube (~ 14 gallons). Its currently running on 2 x 18W PL, with pressurized CO2 and liquid ferts. I have decided to upgrade to DIY LED fixture with below specs;

LEDs:
Philips Luxeon ES 3W 6500K x 6
Philips Luxeon ES 3W 4000K x 4
Philips Luxeon ES 3W Cyan x 1
Semileds Hyper Violet 420nm x 1

Optics:
The hood will be 4" above water, thinking to use 90' optics for CW / WW and nothing for cyan and violet

Drivers & Power Supply: Meanwell LDD 700H x 2. Six LEDs per Driver. And 20V 4.5A laptop adapter as power source. PWM control and dimming will be controlled from arduino.

Can I go ahead with above LED mix? BTW i'm buying LEDs from Steves LEDs, so please suggest within Philips & Semileds only.

I ordered a light but hold no interest in the company nor have I received it yet. Based on my knowledge of the science behind it, this seemed like a good purchase. In the description is a color map, lens choice, and wavelength guide to the leds they chose along with the reasons they chose them. I thought it might be of interest to you in designing your own fixture. I hope there's no issue with my posting that link. If there is the mods are welcome to delete it.

hmm for such a small tank I dunno if I would try to recreate the wheel. have you thought about just getting a Vero18 57k 90 CRI COB and calling it a day? more than bright enough even at 700mah and great quality color wise.

another option is maybe just snagging a premade array from blueacro there freshwater 24W puck would be more than enough for a 15" cube, match it with there duel channel driver would make a nice little light. I know they will also make a light to your specs if you ask fi you want something specific.

if you set on your own light what you list isn't bad. I would prolly lean more toard something like:

You would probably only need 14 to 28W of LEd's for good strong light..but 36 is fine w/ dimming.
Only a rough guesstimate to get one started.
Violets are an "issue" for me as I don't like the tone it creates.
There are plenty of good arguements to add it but just prefer to not.

I would, as mentioned above, substitute a deep red for it.
At the least stick it in the 4000k chain and keep the violet.

thanks! the lights will remain about 4" above the water surface, hence using a single vero 18 may not give proper light distribution. You have recommended 2 x deep reds (out of total 12 LEDs) wont it cause algae issues? I'm not sure Also overall its too warm for my liking. Any particular reason you are favouring warm colour

thanks! seems like your combination gives an overall cool day light look, which is what i'm trying to achieve. May be i'll not consider violet if it gives weird tones.

Another option is to buy CREE XTE 3W from china - 8 CW and 4 WW and drive them with LDD 1000H. However i'm skeptical about their authenticity and performance. But this will work out to be very pocket friendly option if they really work. Since i have to pay almost 50% of LED cost as shipping charges if bought from US. Has any one here had success with CREE XTE from china?

2 DR won't cause algae issues look at the Planted + original was something like 2:1 for 7k whites to 660nm reds. they are not that efficient and they are lower voltage so while it seems like a lot its not a lot. a DR at 700ma is only going to be 1.5 watts compared to 2.5 watts on a white or blue

I've always just liked 5000kish light on my tanks. its the color of the light on a sunny sky at noon, I like to mimic nature in my tanks.

another option you could look at is 3x 280mm Bridgelux EB strips. don't really even need a heatsink mount them to a metal plate and they should be gold. run 2x57k in parallel at 700mah (if you want to stick with a lower voltage PSU otherwise in series at 300mah if you go with a 48V PSU) and a 3k warm one at 300mah.

these things are extremely efficient 160 lumens per watt. compared to 100-130 most of the leds your looking at do.

Luxeon Rebels in many colors can be bought from the same place as the knockoff CREES..So far so good as to longevity ..
$1 each...
This spectrum allows one to shift K from 9800k to 4800k w just turning the blue(substitute for violet) on/off...
CRI is a bit lowish but w/ the added colors shouldn't be an issue..

Add 9/ for $9 white "halo" around it off the worlds marketplace..

Oh and 4" off the water line. no need for optics w/ a tight diode pattern..
Point source would give a 14" cone of light..

I have finalised the LED mix with 3 drivers as below:
Channel 1: CW x 6
Channel 2: WW x 4
Channel 3: (Royal Blue x 1) + (Cyan x 1) + (Deep Red x 1)

I guess this will give me a bit of control on colour temperature
