[HELP] DIY CO2 for 12 gallon Fluval Edge

I want to CO2 for my tank as I want to plant monte carlo as a carpet. I just don't know where to begin. I like how this video does it (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1JzvfHO31Ug), but I don't know exactly what I need. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Joey does good stuff and this sure looks pretty simple. He lists all the parts you need and explains it all really well. What is your confusion?

For DIY, there's citric acid/baking soda or (bio) sugar/yeast. I'm doing sugar/yeast in 2 - 4 liter canisters for my 60g. What I'm doing seems to be encouraging so far (see my DIY Experiment post below yours). But who knows, I could [also] migrate to this method if/when I tire of the bio method/results.
Adding even modest CO2, even in low tech, gives plants quite a boost.
I think the citric acid/baking soda method offers a slight advantage and the kit Joey used seems really good for a 2 bottle - 2 liter system for small/medium tanks (I think large tanks would require more routine mix replacements - too bad there aren't [even] larger bottles with the same cap size).

Bear in mind that in addition to CO2, carpet plants will also need bright light and higher levels of ferts.

Tank On, Mike-
60g Marineland Community, Finnex Planted+ 24/7, Silica (pool filter) sand.
10g, 29g, & 37g fry grow out tanks, 110g stock tank.

What came first, the chicken or the egg. It was the egg, but not the egg from a chicken.

Hey buddy, search on amazon and you can certainly buy the DIY kit there. That's what I did.

However, after several weeks, I decided to score an used co2 tank set on Craigslist because I realized I want to eventually go further on Aquascaping. I then sold my DIY set purchased on amazon on Craigslist.

Although I don't know how much you are interested in plants, I would recommend you go straight to tank set to avoid all the hassle. I would say a used set would be around $100 including everything. Keep ur eyes open! It will almost last you forever.
