I just set up my diy co2. Will this diffusion work?

I put the diffuser right under my Aquaclear intake and all the bubbles are being sucked up into the filter and back into the tank. Will this diffuse the co2 good?

I thought it would be more effective if the CO2 diffuser is under the outlet of the HOB.

Most cases this is right, you want the diffuser under some current to disperse the mist and keep it the tank longer.

However, the thing about Aquaclear HOB filters is they make excellent "reactors" all by themselves, due to how water flows through the media. CO2 going into the intake will dissolve 100%. So it's even better than using current.

Here's a couple threads about it

Can't bubbles damage certain filters? I know they're not great for canister filters. I suppose it's less of an issue for HOB because they're not sealed?
