Setting up my diy co2 system tomorrow, need alittle help

Im setting up diy co2 tomorrow with citric acid and baking soda.
Where should I place the diffuser? Can I place it on my substrate? My tank is 25 " tall or can I drill a hole in my Aquaclear HOB intake tube and have co2 flow into my filter?

Is it safe to turn the co2 off every night and turn it on in the morning?

Yea, turn it off. It's fine. It's not enough pressure to pop the bottles, and when it reaches an equilibrium, it stops. Pressure does not just keep increasing.

Also, YES, if you've got an Aquaclear HOB, just drill a hole in the intake, plug your CO2 line with a bit of cotton, and jam it into the drilled hole.

From everything I've read, damn near 100% efficiency.
