I'm with you guys, too. No way that small footprint makes me feel good.
Maybe they have a big bolt through the back going into a stud in the wall? Maybe a strap for earthquake protection? Something like California has for water heaters?
Nah! I'm betting it's just setting there.

Is it me, or is it not centered either? Downright scary. Was some guy who posted it on a local fish/aquarium group.

Actually this is just a guy testing the limits of a couple of 1x4's.
Keep adding another inch of water until it breaks....
oh wait, thats what I have been doing, LOL. And yes, from a physics stand point - not in my house!!! :-)

Too many things that we can only guess at but not know. I was GUESSING that the stand is metal welded together from top to bottom with a solid metal plate under the tank. Powder coated steel with a 1/4 inch plate fully supporting the tank is plenty strong but then I would not trust the tipping part. But I also can't see what might be underneath. There may actually be a bracket brought out to the left and rear walls and it might be screwed into the studs. That would change the whole question.
Maybe they like the "different" look of nearly no support that we all feel looks bad?
They may know exactly what they are doing and it is totally safe. Or they may not and it really is just standing on a couple wooden boards and we are right.
Do you have a dark view of the world or a brighter one?

I have a wet view of his world. I would hope there would be something making that safer than it looks, but I'm going to have to go with the dark view on this one

Also a fish that big in a tank that small won't last long with no filter.

Sadly, it's a sale thread from a member on a Facebook group. Don't think it's a troll.
What freaks me out is if these people have small children. That's one real unstable setup by the looks.
