trouble with co2 diffuser

So the last few days ive been messing with my diy co2 diffuser and let me tell ya.. what a pain in the arse!!

I have a 300 gph sub powerhead, 10 lb co2 tank w/ regulator
The problem is the co2 diffusser is not 100% effective I have a 250 gal tank thats divided im only plantimng half.

the problem is that the powerhead is to strong or not strong enough.
I have a diy diffuser a 2l bottle with co2 coming up from the middle and getting chopped up in the flow of the powerhead. There as so many micro bubbles escaping from the bottom I fell like I am wasting so much co2.
I am currently running it a 2 bps. I did a water change and my my tank was pearling like crazy but it is not doing that with the co2. on a regular basis any suggestions plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. help My husband has been messing with this thing for days I will try to find hime a camera to post a pic. Thanks Lisa

When you have a powerhead you might as well consider going into a reactor. Much efficient IMOP.

co2 problem

I am using one similar its a 2 liter botlle with the powerhead going into the top. I want to know how long does it take to start pearling after the co2 is turned on?

Efficient yes. I have read somewhere here that you will get better pearling with CO2 mist instead of totally disolving the CO2. Without seeing how you have it setup, it's hard to say much. Try putting the CO2 right into the intake of the powerhead and spraying it around the tank(flow and distribution of CO2 are important). I would use more then 2bps on a tank that size though.....

You could also try somthing like this.

Pearling is not an automatic thing, when your water parameters, lighting and CO2 are all there, you will probably starting to see pearling. JC.
