So I made a Co2 brew... did I use too much yeast?

I was reading on a webpage that used a "packet" of yeast. I looked at another website that said to just use a tsp of yeast. My packet of yeast contained 1/4 oz or 2 1/4 tsp. I don't want the bottle blowing up on me

Is there a Land Mine under the bottle? Seriously, I think you are gonna see some major foam. Use less next time if you want your batch to last.
MORE yeast = less time bubbling

Will do, should I even bother using it or should I just dump it? I literally just made it, first time ever doing this. I figured it was too much after I saw everyone else using minuscule amounts. I have 10 fish in my tank, I'd hate to kill them all... I'm not sure if this would produce too much Co2 for them

I think you'll be fine. Dry yeast isn't as potent as the fresh one you gotta keep in the fridge. If you dumped in tons of sugar though, well then....who knows.

I would say restart. You will get a big burst, then it will run out faster.

I think it will last a week at least. I use almost 1/2 Tbs because I want more CO2 and I only have my bottles running a 1.5 weeks to 2 weeks.

Don't over think it. I make two bottles, eyeball half the pack for one and eyeball the other half for the other, then dump what looks like 2 cups of sugar in each add some hot water, shake like crazy and done. When it stops bubbling repeat. Its pretty easy and not a whole lot can go wrong. Unless you fill the bottle too far up and then you get yeast foam in your tank. (Did that once) Woops...

tempreture is gonna be the bigest factor in how long the mix takes to reach lethal levels of alchahol, not the trivial amount of yeast you start with wich multiply utill the alchahol kills.

The more you use the faster it dies out. No worries.. It shouldnt cause to much harm.. However, it it foams up you could get the snot in your tank..

The way I had mine set up, was I had a second bottle, I would fill the second bottle half way with water and ensure the inlet pipe was below the water line and outlet pipe was at the top of the bottle... easy way to solve any issues of impurities getting into your tank from the co2 bottles.
