In the upcoming months I'm going to be building 2x led pendent light fixtures for my 40 breeder high tech. I want to use 2x 50 watt led chips with lens and reflectors.
I found these
LOHAS® 50W LED Chip Cool White Bulb High Power Lamp Energy Saving Chip https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00D1GT772/ref=cm_sw_r_other_awd_D4PWwbFT2H7QB
What's your take on them? I'll be praying then with the meanwells I have from a previous project.
These type of COB LED's are cheaply made.
If tested with a variable power supply and slowly brought up to voltage all of the LED's inside do not always illuminate.
Have you thought of these.
You can build a better spectrum for your plants.
Populate with 3 watt LED's, 2 discs will get you 42 watts @ 48VDC supply.

The COB and 3 watt LED's are made by many manufacturers.
Bridgelux, Cree, Epistar etc...
LED aluminum base plates can be searched on evilbay.
Mind your driver output and power supply voltages.
