Do you know where the bubbles originate from?

There are several possible sources of bubbles.

1) After water changes, gases come out of solution. Old wisdom says that this can be dangerous for your fishies, if you change water too much/too rapidly.

2) If you have lots of growing plants, plenty of light and nutrients, oxygen saturation can reach and exceed 100%, which results in oxygen bubbles building on plants. Tiny injuries will release streams of oxygen bubbles.

3) Some filters start spitting bubbles as oxygen saturation occurs. Especially if the filter medium is clogged, the impellor causes some negative pressure which pulls oxygen out of solution. I don't think it bothers the fish, just might be aesthetically undesired.

If they collect on the water surface, you might experiencing something known as "surface scum". There have been plenty of discussion about the what, where and how to get rid of it, do a quick search if you think that might be the issue.

Okay, so it's probably due to the water change. Scratch #3 as this only applies to canister filters.
