Split photoperiod/"siesta"

Do any of your products allow more than one off/on to be programmed each day?

I would like the lights to be on in the morning before I go to work, go off for 4-6 hours, then go on again in the evening when I get home.

Supposedly, this helps with algae as well.

Any normal timer can do that.

I know that, but using the light that way kind of defeats the purpose of a programmable light.

Tank Lighting

Hello rand...

It would be easier to program the tank light for 12 hours on and 12 off. That's what the plants get in their natural environment. Tank plants are tropical and used to long hours of daylight.

You can deal with algae by removing it's food source. Reduce the amount you feed and remove and replace the tank water a bit more often.

It's not so much the algae. It's that I want to see my fish in the morning before I go to work as well as in the evening when I get home.

I'd have to have the lights on much longer than 12 hours for that.

Ha ha I was surprised you asked that too.

I think, not sure but check into satellite pro plus. That is fully programmable, atleast thats what the website says. You could ask them directly here in the forum.
