Can I use a regular timer with Satellite+?

As topic states, can I use a regular timer with the satellite+?

My 24" is on the way right now, but I didnt order a ramp timer (yet). Just wondering if I can get by in the mean time.

sure you can....it works just like any led light and works with a timer. Only thing different with the ramp timer is it lets you ramp the light up at certain strength. Without it using a regular timer youll set the intensity of the light and it will turn on and off at the same intensity

As stated, timers work fine to turn it on and off. If you are the type that can get nerdy, check out the Guide: Arduino based LED controller for Current Satellite LED+ thread. Using some of the code in that thread, you can control, blend, and ramp each color channel (red, green, blue, and white) fully automated.

I have seen that thread before. And while I have no problem building and coding it (very technically minded/able).... I dont much like the look of a DIY when the light itself is so shiny and sleek

Maybe if I had access to make a nice plastic or anodized aluminum casing for it, I might consider it.
at this point, plug n play is what im after

RadioShack has nice black plastic project boxes in a variety of sizes for < $10. See here: http://www.radioshack.com/family/ind...goryId=2032276
