Question Herp for a 5 gallon?

Hi, i am new to herps , and i have 1 spare 5 gallon tank. There is a reptile shop nearby and they sell loads of stuff, and I would like to get a herp or two. I was looking into tree frogs(green or japanese), anoles(green or brown), geckos(leopard or house) or pac man frogs. Sadly they have NO ADFs! So what herp is the best? If there's no herp for it, i'll just get a bunch of shrimp for it-which is also awesome. SO any commonts are highly appreciated!

A 5 gallon is really small for herps. You're going to want a sit and wait predator for such a small space. A pacman frog is a great example. A few small salamander species could work: Sphaerodactylus sp, Gonatodes, sp, Saurodactylus sp, Tropiocolotes sp. You could also keep a couple african dwarf frogs.

My roommate says I'll die by giant turtle.

I would personally upgrade to a 10 gallon or more for a herp. Most tree frogs and anoles will need a 20 gallon if I remember correctly. In my experience they really enjoy more space. A green tree frog definitely will not do well in a 5. As for leopard geckos, a 10 is the minimum and honestly I think a 20 is better. You COULD probably put a baby pictus in a 5 but it would still be better to upgrade to a 10 as it grew.
