Thinking of doing Seachem Fluorite dark in my 5.5, anyone have pics of it in their tanks?

I have it in my first tank. It is basically a red-looking gravel (supposedly clay based). Even though it says dark, it's still comparatively light compared to most soils. It was the wrong choice for me because i was trying to get a DHG carpet going but it is far too coarse for carpeting plants. Keep in mind it’s also basically inert meaning your plants won’t get any nutrients from it, which hasn’t stopped my tank from becoming lush. It’s also a pain to rinse before using.

I don't have any distance shots on my Imgur album, but have a couple of close ups that show it. And I've moved a lot of stuff over the years in these shrimp tanks so there could be another color mixed in to some degree.


Nothing good happens fast in an ecosystem.
