Note that this thread is stickied but we'll remove it in a week or two.
This was posted elsewhere on the forum as an update but it's probably a good idea to share it in the Lounge.
We unfortunately had to remove a longtime member of the forum for both violating our sales limitations and ignoring moderator requests. Happens very rarely but when it does, it's usually pretty blatant.
Thank you to everyone else who participates on the forum and respects our very basic sales limits. If I can follow them (I'm also a paid member) and you can follow them, there's no reason businesses can't follow them.
Can't believe this has to be brought up AGAIN
so soon but here we are. Read our Acceptable Use Policy
. Also know what our sales limits are. You can find those in the For Sale section.
Don't self-promote. That should be common sense. Sponsor or not, don't promote your wares on the open forum. Use properly designated areas.
Don't try to scam our For Sale system!
Our limits are in place for a reason and to prevent this from becoming like every other forum where it's non-stop sales and promotional activity. When a moderator asks you to stop taking advantage of our sales system and you ignore them, you'll be permanently banned. No questions asked. You have the rest of the internet to sell on. You don't need to spam your stuff here with reckless abandon.
Should it become clear to the moderation and admin team that you're operating a business or storefront while using a standard membership account (and, let's be honest, most of them only sell and never participate on the rest of the forum), we may require you to become a sponsor or ask you to stop selling. In some instances, we may remove your access to the For Sale/Want To Buy sections entirely. If you ignore our request(s), we may also remove you from the forum. Our sponsors pay for the privilege of promoting their business and you'll need to do the same.
Note that regular members and sellers have nothing to worry about. But speaking of regular members/sellers - trying to drown them out with your business on this forum won't be tolerated. This is a hobbyist forum and we're here for hobbyists.
