On Feb 26 I suffered a mild stroke. Some effect on left side (reduced sensory perception and vision (It's called left neglect) . Simple tasks are challenging. A friend is coming over tomorrow to assist with a water change.
I'll be out of hand for awhile till the recovery progresses. Prognosis is good, but the main factor will be time.
Very sorry to hear of your situation. Good to read you have some help available to help as needed. Major medical can be a real bummer - been down that road myself.
Certainly take what time is needed - we will always be here to support as needed.
Wow Pat, sorry to hear about this news. I wish you a quick recovery and I hope your health and normal life return back soon. Keep us posted on your progress.
My wife is helping me with this response. I would like to thank everyone for the encouragement and kind words. I am too pig-headed to let this keep me down for long and I don't like to lose. Thanks again. C-140
i am so sorry to hear it 😞 it's really tough. my mother suffered a stroke over a year ago and she has left side neglect too. her vision and movement of her left side has been compromised, lots of numbness and neuropathy. i assist her with various tasks daily. i hope you can get physical therapy to help with some of the symptoms! good luck.
Thought I 'd pass on an update. I've 'graduated from phyisical therapy but still have some occupational therapy to go. I see a local neurologist tomorrow for an eval.
For the interested my wife and I have been able to keep up with tank maintenance and water changes.
I'm getting around the house without aids and a little sensation seems to be coming back on the left, but the left foot still feels like it's had a full load of novocaine.
