New to planted aquariums
Hello all, I've been creeping on this forum for a little bit now and finally decided to join. I've had aquariums in the past, but nothing quite like this. I've come to the conclusion that i MAY have a problem with moderation, at least that's what my wife says.. I started off with a 10gal shrimp tank, with anacharis and some frogbits, which has grown to a 40 breeder, still with shrimp, a couple of green/red neon tetras, and electric blue ram, and about 12, or so, easy care plants. my impatience got the best of me, I should've kept my shrimp in the 10gal until I had all of the plants that I want in there. Shoulda, woulda, coulda...
Now for questions.. I just recently removed the air pump, out of fear of not enough Co2 in the tank for the plants. I figure that with all of the plants in there, they should be producing enough o2 for the fish/shrimp. Does that pass a sanity check?
I have also been adding some liquid fert, once a week. I'm trying to find that balance between plants and animals. I've seen mixed reviews on adding cooper to the water with shrimp.
