What framework for a riparium?

Hi all, I talked myself into a 55 gallon tank and I want to make it into an elaborate riparium with a waterfall or two. What do you suggest to use for the framework? I have seen many videos, but few explain what they use. I won't use styrofoam. I will be gluing rock to it, so it has to be sturdy. This is my first attempt beyond just dropping plants in the back of the tank or in the filter. I am SOOOO excited!

Been researching building a paludarium and from what I understand you're looking at using egg crate (light diffusing material) or PVC sheet to build the structures. Both should be available at big box home improvement stores. Out of those two egg crate seems like it would be the stronger base as long as you build it correctly.

Perfect!! Yes, that is exactly what I was looking for. I am going to go get my hands on the PVC sheet and see if it is strong enough, as I will be building in small sections on top of each other. I still would like the egg crate diffuser as well for filtering, etc. Thank you so much! I knew what I wanted, just not what it was called. My riparium is that much closer to getting started!!!

Try going to the General Planted Tank Discusion and click on it. When it opens up at the top of the page are 4 sub-forums. Click on the
Riparium/Terrarium/Vivarium sub-forum and you'll find all kinds of build information. Just a little bit of reading in there can help you avoid a lot of issues. There's a lot of wrong ways to do it. Post some pics when you get going on it!

Thank you! I had seen this once before, but couldn't find it again. I will go haunt it!
