55 Gallon Aqua Addict v. Co2

I've had this 55 set up for about 5 years and its gone thru plenty of changes while learning the in's and out's of keeping fish... So now I'm adding Co2 and hopefully all my research will payoff and I can get this guy really lush and learn more about how plants grow.

Set up -
55 gal
Sand & Eco complete sub
Current Satellite + 36'
Penn Plax Cascade 700
Korilia Nano 425

3 Juli Cory Cats
1 Otto
3 Cherry Tetras
8 Black Line Tetras
1 Resilient Neon

Amazon Sword
Java Fern
Dwarf Sag
Bacopa Monnieri
Anacharis - Egeria Elodea
Water Sprite

5lb tank
Co2 Art Regulator
Ista Max Mix CO2 Reactor Diffuser

Osmocote Root Tabs
Macro Mico Mix
Feeding for Phospate (hopefully)
Trying to go with a loose pps pro

I added the stem plants two weeks ago and added root tabs -
Started the co2 1 bps on Tuesday 2/2
Light Cycle 12 hrs

Will update new pic asap

Keep us posted! Very nice looking tank. I've been debating a black background, but you just sold me on picking one up.

If you feel like you're in control, you're not driving fast enough.

Thanks! Glad you Like it - If you check out my albums I have a pic of the before black and after - I really love the black background but am not totally happy with the black substrate. I think it makes the tank look dimmer - my lights are not that strong so maybe it will change when I get around to adding an additional strip.

Heres an update for this week - Setup has performed to expectations - no malfunctions or issues so thats awesome! Drop checker has remained Green! Although when I did a water change it did get lighter and one fish looked loose so I'm sure the new water gassed them a bit - Anyone with WC procedure suggestions? Should I be doing night changes, Early Morning, let water set out and degas? I put in an airstone for an hour or so and everything seemed fine so I turned it off. I removed the large driftwood for a bba treatment. I had battled bba in the past and got rid of it but during the transition to co2 I was adjusted my light setting and waited a few weeks to add the co2 so .... Hopefully I can keep everything steady and it should lessen. I really want to fert only once a week - Anyone out there with suggestions or helpful hints--- I haven't seen any pearling so I can only assume maybe its because I haven't dosed everyday?

I'm mad at myself for not getting a pic the day I turned it on to compare growth but the one posted is from right before I added the stem plants so 3 weeks ago.. The moneywort has grown an inch this week since co2 was added so thats great.. I don't think the elodia will make it - they didn't root fast like the moneywort and then my corries didn't help running thru them - All the plants overall are looking happier so

Update - Heres the growth since the last update - Trimmed a little of everything except the money wort. Still have a little BBA - Added some amano shrimp and they seem pretty happy munching on it. Increasing my fert rate to daily instead of 1 per week - lets see if I can keep up !
