I always feel weird giving critiques because I am also a newcomer to the aquarium hobby. But, here goes...

First of all, I would probably move the filter intake and outflow to one end of the tank, whether you have them at the same end to create circular flow or one on one side and one on the other is largely up to you, but this will increase flow to all plants and help in distributing nutrients/general things dissolved in the water. I would put the heater on one side or the other too, and you can use the water sprite (Is that water sprite? I'm still terrible at plant ID) to hide it.

I like the driftwood you have! It's looking good.

What lighting do you have? It seems very dark in the corners, but that might just be the picture.

I will be changing the lighting soon. The 36" hood I purchased only accommodates a 24" inch tube??????
But I did replace the standard with higher quality light, for now. I had read to keep heater in middle of larger tanks to disperse heat evenly? Never did that in my smaller tanks. Thanks for the suggestions!

I agree with the above statements. You don't have to worry about heat distribution if you have adequate flow. The left looks like a sword in the corner which will get huge, but they look great.

My 2 suggestions 1) are consider making an island but combining all of your wood and rocks. It will make the right one seem less bare. 2) Cut the water sprite on the right in half height wise. Then replant anything with roots. Keep trimming it and you'll be surprised how well it shapes up.

Trimmed back the Water Sprite and planted some Compacta. I will be planting 3 Nubia Petite, 2 Nubia Nano and some Spiral Val this weekend. Rearranged the rocks....I think it looks a little better?
