Some inspirational Nature pics!

Hi there,

Well yesterday I went on a little trip to one of my most favorite parks called Southford Falls in Oxford, CT.

After looking at some of Amano's Aqua Journal Magazines (specifically speaking Issue #150) I got an idea that I have barren spots on my wall in my bedroom. And what better way to fill them, than to go out take some inspirational shots, print them out, and say WOW I took that photo!

This is the Pic I'm talking about:

This photo inspired me to go out and see what kind of pictures I can take to show the real beauty of this river.

So having little to NO experience with advance camera's (Canon 5D is what was used to take these photo's) I brought my father with me to set up the camera and help me take some shots.

So here are my photo's:

I had to climb down about 30 feet to get this shot.

The photographer himself!

One of my favorites!

One of my favorites!

Never mind favorites. lol I like them all!

So this was just a little trip it's about 5-10min drive from where I am. Right now I am hoping that people will respond and tell me what you think of these photos. Ohh andpost which one is your favorite. I don't know which one should I pick to go on my Wall?

Lastly if you guys like this stuff I might go out and find another place so I can post more here later on! Actually I found out this stuff is pretty good exercise! So comment tell me what you think!

Beautiful!! But the wide-angle lens makes the trees look warped

Very nice. I especially like the third pic with the rapids. The water almost looks painted.

Hey William! Awesome pictures you shot there . With only 10 mins to go there, I will be there everyday. I sure hope we have something as beatiful as that here. Did you find any shrimps or fish out there? I can see a lot of rocks and plants all over. Thanks for sharing.

Cool locale!

A few tips...
Fish-eye lenses and nature photography don't usually go too well together... too 'distracting' and don't transparently show the subject, they focus more on the lens' manipulation.
Most photos are too dark. Try using +.5 to +1 exposure compensation.
The white balance is off a bit (too blue). Try the "cloudy" or "shade" setting instead of letting the Canon decide.
