An almost 20 Gallon high

Progression of my 18 gallon aquarium; comments and some constructive criticism appreciated.















This tank has had a tropical basis since last nov.
-always more to come and please be respectful

Love the pic of the oto and your finger.

I think you need some color. My 55g tank suffers from the same problem.

Hadn't thought about that suction shelf before. Great idea for a tall tank.

I'm using x2 15w daylights, a fluval 104 with hydro sponge III as a pre-filter and a DIY CO2 unit.

Nice assortment of wildlife and good selection of equipment.

I'd say two areas you could work on are:

Creating depth of field: You're off to a good start, placing shorter objects/plants in front, taller ones in back, but it could be cleaned up just a little.

Color: Try to add some different color. You don't have to add red plants, but just try to bring in some darker greens here and there. That too will help create depth.

Thank you, JMhart for the advice. Updating with depth, breadth and colour (not easily seen from the photos though, pinkish tips on some plants)
