Sun 65

Hi All! I currently have a 25g tank with a coralife fixture with 2 24w T5HO bulbs. One 10k and one 6.7k. I also have a paintball co2 with solenoid.

The first photo is the start and the second is how my tank is currently set up.

I caught the bug and wanted to start a journal on my new tank. I recently purchased this 65g.

I also purchased 2 planted+ 24/7 light fixtures and I'm going to reuse my paintball co2.

I'm still in the planning stages and this will be my first purpose built planted tank. The water temp. will also need to be at the most 72*. I need to have the tank heavily planted with sturdy plants that can take some abuse from my paddletail newts. It will also need several sight breaks and hides for them. I also want to have a sand area for feeding. Other than that I was going to go to the https://www.adana-usa.com/index.php?main_page=page&id=6 to pick up some rocks and dw. Hopefully can mock up some hardscape in the next week or two.

I'm wondering what would be a good filter to get? I know I want canister, but not quite sure on the brand. Eheim seems to be a reliable filter.

Also, I bought 2 of the planted+ 24/7's hoping that would be enough for med-high light plants? I'd like to get some sort of carpet going. I like the look of HC, but it seems to me that it would probably end of getting uprooted. I currently have some S.Repens that I like.

I'm thinking of getting an Eheim 2217. What do you all think?

I got the 2215 for my ~8 gallon tank and it is good in my opinion. Seems like the 2217 would be fine for a 25 gallon. I have seen 2 2217's being used on a 65 gallon tank so this again tells me that one on a 25 should be fine. I have not had any issues with my Eheim and think it is a solid filter at a good price.

Hardscape and some planting

Got my hardscape and some planting done. Sorry for the crappy picture. I'll try to get a nicer one this weekend. This was right after planting about a week ago.
