Planted Pond(guess that counts as a tank)

Always dreamed of a bigger pond ever since I kept one of those tiny preformed pond. My yard has a free corner spot so I figured I'd make a pond there.

After several weeks of digging:

Had to removed about 100lbs of roots from the birds of paradise that used to be there which was a real pain.
Pond is 8' x 8' with depth of 3.5-4', holds about 1000G
Excavation is unfinished. I'm still working on finishing the second level of depth and the deep zone.

Fauna:
Goldfish
White Cloud Minnows
I'd much prefer koi over goldfish but plants are unsuitable with koi.

Flora:
Water lilies definitely
Jungle val (I plan on placing them in the deep zone just to test how tall they can grow)
There will be more but I'll need to do some trials and errors to see which plants would thrive outdoor. I'm open to all suggestions.

Filtrations:
Currently have 2 x 1000Gal pump but have yet to decide on a filter.

Pond liner will be put down next week after digging is completed.
