GreenBeard's 75G

First, I'll bang off a list of what the hardware is.

75G glass tank - resealed myself, probably a 15 year old Hagen with very thick glass
Aquaclear 110 - sponge, aquaclear biomax (110 size), a bag of Fluval biomax and a recently added 'cut-to-size' phosphate removing sponge placed on top of the biological filter sponge below
Fluval C3 - sponge that was included, biomax that was included and Fluval biomax added in the place where carbon was supposed to go
ODYSSEA 4xT5HO stocked currently with 2x10k and 2x6.7k lamps
Coralife CP750 - turned on occasionally just to create some movement
2 x Fluval Co2 20 one diffuser on the left side and one on the ride side, not large enough (15g each) but I was using them in my 10g's and decided to just put them in here assuming some was better then none...?
Fluval Stratum - probably about a full bag in the section on the left
Fluorite - there is a 4/5 a bag of plain in the mid-tier on the left, there is a bag of dark in the center 'low-area',
Eco-Complete - a full bag in the tier on the right hand side
Fluval heater - dont know the size but it keeps the water temp acceptable

Doses
Fluval tabs
Big Al's Multi-Purpose Plant Food Supplement - generic plant food, dose with this only at water change time, stopped dosing since algae outbreak
Seachem Excel - stopped dosing with this as it caused my corys and pictus cat to go nuts and they seemed really uncomfortable
Seachem Flourish - have not actually dosed with this fertilizer yet in this tank

Stats
Temp - constant 27C (80F)
Light cycle - 6.7k from 3:30 - 10:30, 10k from 5:00 - 7:00,
Nitrates - 5
Ammonia - ~0
pH - 7.8
Feeding - reduced to once a day for fish, only with water changes for plants
Water Changes - 30% one time weekly
Prime - with wc

Plants
  • Green Wisteria - large
  • Ludwigia Repens - large
  • Kleiner Bar Sword - med
  • Ozelot Sword - med/sm
  • Flame Sword - large
  • 7x Anubias - med
  • 2x Dwarf Anubias - sm
  • Vallisneria - about a dozen maybe - sm
  • Lindernia Rotundfolia - sm (I'm pretty sure this is what it is...)
  • Xmas Moss - about a baseball sized clump
  • Echindorus Major or a Crispis - med (think it's a crispis)
  • 1x Moss Ball - sm

Fish/ invertebrates
  • 12x Serpae Tetras
  • 1x Double Cockatoo Dwarf Cichlid
  • 3x Black Emporer Tetra
  • 4x German Blue Rams (2 male, 2 female - pairs)
  • 3x Otto cats
  • 1x Pictus cat
  • 3x Amano shrimp (have only ever seen 2 at a time...)
  • 2x wc Corydoras (one gold stripe and one plain?)

The pictures below will show you that I'm dealing with a lot of algae right now and would really like any advice you can share on how to deal with it. I think I'm going to do a 3 day blackout with regular Excel dosing and see if that will at least clear some of it up.

Enjoy the pics (I apologize about the quality they were so crisp when I took them but now they look like shat. I will redo them shortly)
