Pinnacle's 29 Gallon Aquarium! [56k Warning] NEW PICS 6/13/2009!!

I am pretty new here still. Recently got into this great hobby and figured I'd post a journal. It's mostly for me to keep track of my progress and, obviously, for feedback.

Tank: 29g (not sure of dimensions, I do know it is 30" long)
Lighting: Coralife 30" 65w CF
Substrate: Pool Filter Sand
Filter: Eheim 2236
Heater: Rena 100w
Co2: GLA Primo System
Fish: 1 Dwarf Gourami
6 Cory Cats
Plants: Java Moss, Amazon Sword, Wisteria, Green Hygro, M. Minuta, and some sort of crypt

It's got a lot of work and needs time to fill in. I'd like to get some rocks and more driftwood also. lol

Need to find a new spot for the heater too

Thanks! Some of it is browning and seems like parts are dying. But I have already noticed growth on a good bit of it. Can't wait for it to grow out!

Well, I must be doing something somewhat right.. My Amazon Sword isn't exactly pearling, but it is giving off a small, steady stream of bubbles.

Thats a first in this tank! haha

Tank looks good. You will love the marsilea. Its slow to get started but once it gets going its like a train. Stuff looks fantastic when it fills in.

I was suspecting that. The portion I have in my 10g (Flourite) is doing great.

Any suggestions for more plants? I want to heavily plant this one, but really have no idea which plants would be good and which wouldn't.

I was also thinking of getting some Manzanita (sp?) DW and get 2-3 different mosses and put that in here.

I really just have too many ideas I want to do! >.<

Nice startup. Yes, those Minuta will look great on the white sand but you have to maintain it a lot so that the sand does not loose color from waste and algae. Good job!

Patience is the name of the game.

I'm a big fan of Christmas moss and flame moss. Ive always like anubias plants with the marsilea. Some Anubias nanas, and Nana Petites. Theres a variation of the Anubias nana thats more gold in color *golden nana* and the leaves are a bit smaller than the anubias nana. Its a real nice plant.

I'll have to look into those.

I am almost tempted to just buy a variety of plants and just see where it goes. I really like my Amazon Sword, but have heard it can get rather huge. lol

Yeah the amazon sword will get large and over take the tank. If you like swords keep an eye out for a Red Flame sword. Heres a picture of mine. Stays pretty small.

Another one which gets a little bigger but not to big is a Kleiner Bar sword. I would take a picture of that one but it is bunched between a couple other swords I have and would be hard to distinguish
