In the process of researching and putting together a 75 gallon cichlid aquarium, a friend gave me a 29 gallon tall that I decided to turn into a planted tank. The tank is currently sitting in my garage, as we are getting our house painted in a couple of weeks, I need to wait to get it into place. (I apologize for the poor picture quality I a working with my phone, the second picture shows the color, the lawn mower behind reminds me that I should stop researching fish and cut the grass…)
I have been lurking here for a while as I research equipment, aquascaping, maintenance, etc. I thought why not document my journey as other have. We currently have a 10 gallon tank that my son received for his birthday a couple of years ago. It isn’t currently much to look at as we have gone through a learning curve in the care and maintenance of fish, but through that process I have developed a new hobby and an appreciation for the relaxation that fish provide.
It is currently stocked with 9 neon tetra’s and a crayfish, yes a crayfish, my daughter was a lucky winner at the end of the school year and got to bring home one of the class crayfish, who has now taken up residency with the tetra’s. Surprisingly they seem to co exist very well, I do plan to move the tetra’s to the 29 gallon when it is ready. The crayfish is a little camera shy.
