il2fd's 112g Amazon Themed Discus Tank -UPDATED 30.10.09-

Tank: 4ft (L) x 2.5ft (H) x 1.5ft (W)
Filter: Eheim 2228
Light: 6x T5HO
Substrate: Up Aquasoil

So this has been a little project over the last couple of months. I had it sitting around for a while doing nothing except half filled while I let the DW soak. I got some money together and started getting the bits and pieces that I needed to get it underway and it is now going!

All these photos were taken with the 2x T8 lights, however I will be installing the 6x T5HO's tonight and will take some better photo's then.

How is your tank doing with the T5s? Do you have any new pictures? How do you like the size of this tank as compared with the 90 gallon same length?

Is that Hygrophila corymbosa 'angustifolia' that is around the driftwood? I love that look.

Going really well. The lights have 3 power cords, so I run 2 on, 4 on, 6 on, 4 on, 2on off. The tanks size is awesome, plenty of room for the fish to swim and the plants to grow tall.

Yeah it is, got a bucket load of it as I wanted the wavey look.

The tank is currently going lights out and no food for 3 days to try clean up a hair algae outbreak. Will be cleaning it up tomorrow.

Youtube Video of the tank. Water is hazy due to the lights out that I've been running. But gives you a good idea of the tank. Should have it cleared up by the end of the week.

like the setup, but the driftwood could have been made more visible than now. Over time it will be covered even more with those plants in front of it.

Awesome tank! And I love that driftwood.

Go jungle! How about some jungle vals in the back left? I have an 80 gal with that footprint and I like the height of your tank. Looks good so far!
