First Aquascaping attempt

Hey guys, have only recently got into the planted aquaria. This is my first attempt at a planted tank, and i'm quite proud of how it is developing. Currently there is java fern, ech swords, a spath, val and a couple i'm not sure of. Inhabitants are aus rainbows and cories. There are still a couple of plants i want to add, namely something to cover the diy diffuser and heater in the back right corner, i was thinking some cabomba, and when i get the dosh for better lighting riccia for ground cover. But suggestions are definately welcome as i am in awe of some of your guys work.

Cheers,
Rusty

That is a nice looking tank. Especially for a first time planting.

Thanks guys. I'll try and give you the proper run down. It's a 55 gal tank, with a 1200lph cannister. The CO2 is a diy yeast driven and feeds into a diffuser (bottle) with bio balls and is stirred by the filter outlet. It has laterite in the gravel and i use seachem excel and flourish liquid ferts.

As for lighting it's pretty cheap, i currently have 2 t8 tubes, one a 6500 kelvin the other just a standard white, with homemade reflector (aluminium foil glued to hood). I plan to add another 2 tubes, when i get around to it.

Thanks again for the compliments,
Rusty

For a first tank that is great. I think it is a little out of balance, and there are several positions to be able to move the rock and wood(IMHO). Have you tried this? I would not add any other hardscape I like the plant, rock and wood combo as is. Nice tank

75g, pair of gold rams , ABN, 1 adult 2 young discus, 2oto's, 6ADF's, 3 anglefish. 96w 6700k-light 6hrs raised, No C02, Excel, EI dry macro's and micro's, Eheim 2126, 18w UV, 2 Nano 270 powerhead. wall of bubbles for more O2 for such a deep tank.

Thanks again guys. Yeah i have tried a couple of different combinations, but the good looking ones looked a bit unstable. I was trying to emulate this tank but more jungly, if thats a word, because of my driftwood. I have a few more rocks if you guys have any suggestions.

Cheers Rusty
