Illusions - Demonbreedr's 10gal Aquarium - Setup 11/11/09

Ok...this tank started life as a 5.5gal with 6 Endlers, 6 Ghost Shrimp, & Snails then moved to a Rimless 10gal then to a rimmed 10gal on 8/19/09 since my cat cracked the rimless tank...

Since I'm in love with Crytocorynes [the fit my semi-busy lifestyle], I've based the tank around them.

Right now, The tank's plant list is:

Red Root Floater
Rotala Indica
Rotala Rotundifolia
Sunset Hygro
Christmas/Taiwan/Java Moss
Anubias Barteri 'Nana'
Anubias Barteri
Crypt Wendtii 'Red'
Crypt Willisii 'Lucens'
Crypt Pontederiifolia
Microsword

Gravel is Inert, Black & Clown Puke[Blue, Purple, Green, etc.] gravel

Hardscape is 2 Pieces of Driftwood one being Mopani and 1 Unknown Rock...

Tank is a normal, Black Trimmed Wal*Mart Tank with the back painted black

Equipment includes Glass Thermometer, Whisper 2-10i Filter[I love this one!], and a 50W Tetra 79 degree Preset Heater since my 100W just kept blinking Red...

Fish: List is ALWAYS changing, but I'm buying a 90gal to move the leftovers into and then buying new stock...

Thanks for reading my journal!

How will the CO2 be dispersed with no water movement?

the heater maybe(?). when actively heating heaters can actually move and mix quite a bit of water. i think it would be interesting to set it up exactly as described, to see what happens.

I guess no movement at all. Would that be a problem? Something I would have to work on? I guess when I get my next paycheck I could pickup and Aquaclear Mini (or 20 as they call it now).

Do you think ~30W of Light would work in this tank or should I go badder? I know some of those plants are very light demanding. Should I add a black background?

No heater, I live in FL and I don't think I'd need one. My FISH tanks don't have heaters either...they do better w/o.

I haven't setup this tank yet...but since I've been trying to cut back tanks, I doubt I will now and might just sell it. Anyone in Florida want a rimless 10gal? I'll only charge like 5$[Labor, New-ish Rimless Tank] for a new betta for my 5.5gal.

I'm highly considering giving this tank to ZTM...

I don't need it any more and it'll look WAAAYYY outta place in a stack of Rimmed 10gal's...I'll get a pic up of it soon, but I've been lazy & haven't charged my camera batteries...

I'm considering a 45-P ADA Tank in it's stead...in my room..not the FR.

So, ZTM bought a NEW 10G RMLS so I decided to upgrade the Endlers to my 10G RMLS...

I freaked out thinking about my fish jumping so I've decided to make this tank a Riparium!

I need to buy some riparium supplies [need to get paid again LOL], Add a Black Background to the water part, Then more Shrimp, a few M guppies, & my Tiger Endlers...

For plants, I want this tank to be E-A-S-Y, so I want:

Sunset Hygro
Green Hygro
Rotala Colorata
Ludwiga Repens
Riccia
Mini-Pellia
Pellia
Java Moss [On it's way]
Java Fern 'Windelov'
Crypt Wentii 'Red' & 'Green' [I'm getting some for my 75...so I'll just buy a bunch at once.]
Crypt Parva
Anubias Nana 'Petite'

[some of those will be in the Rip. Planters.]

You just gave me an idea to use my old rimless ten as a riparium. I forgot I had it since I was afraid of filling it up all of the way, and was wanting to set up a rip. sooo, I have too many projects on my hands right now lol.
