5 Gallon Rocky Hill UPDATE 4/17/09

Set up a 5 gallon I had laying around in my closet and decided I would make a journal and document its start and developement

Tank is a standard AGA 5
Lighting- 27w PC Desk Lamp
Substrate- Eco Complete
Hardscape- Pagoda stones & petrified wood
Flora- HC so far, waiting for it to fill in
Filtration- Red Sea Nano Filter, Hagen elite mini
Co2- DIY w/elite mini as reactor

Stones I will be using and my little helper helping me pick out which rocks to use

Close ups

And on to the harscape!

HC Planting was a PITA! But im sure it'll be worth it, I need ideas as to what ground cover to add

Filling was slow and maybe even more of a pita than planting the HC

What a great idea. I thought the slopes would be much larger but still,
random rock placements with plants growing between them looks very natural.

big + for uniqueness-ness-ness

its got diy c02 right now, tubed into the powerfilter as a reactor, and although its a 60w light its a desk lamp so im ure alot of that light is wasted, im going to pick up a PC in the 50w+ range for it

The only thing I would change is this sorry if it doesnt make since, but it doesnt look that natural having the rock standing up like that. But other than that I love this tank I was thinking of doing something similar but ran out of tanks lol
