Smile Indigo's Emersed Cylinder [56K]

Some mosses and a random weed from the driveway, with a hunk of petrified wood and some eco-complete, in a glass cylinder from the craft store. It's my little bowl of WIN.

Oh, and I want to thank Dollface, Haagenize & Fishman9809 for the inspiration and encouragement to just go ahead and put this thing together.

Dumb question time!
Do you ever have to do water changes in one of these, considering everything's emersed? Or do you just keep it wet?
Any fertilization necessary?
Thanks!

Sixwing, at this point I plan on simply keeping it wet, just pouring in some nutrient-rich water from my 75g occasionally. I've misplaced my little spray bottle, but a misting occasionally is probably ideal too, but given they're locally growing plants they should handle low humidity fairly well.

WIN, it's success. Practically zero effort for an attractive reward, WIN!

Nice, the new angle shows that scape a lot better. I've got a rock soaking and I'm gonna give it a try

Win is right. That's really cool. (also makes a good desktop wallpaper.)
Next time someone gifts me a big glass vase, I'm going to try something like this when the flowers die.
Thanks, imeridian!

Right now it's just sitting on my desk next to my coffee cups. My office has been in a horrible state as a result of the aquarium work lately, so until I can find the motivation to clean up it'll probably stay on my desk, heh. It gets some spill light from two T8's used for growing terrestrial plants, so lighting should be acceptable for mosses.
