Against the wishes of my dear wife, I have decided to set-up a 75g planted tank with a hopefully "South American" theme to it. I plan to use this journal as a picture book of progress, as well as address any issues along the way - hopefully those will be minimized.
I have been keeping fish in some form or fashion for the last 25 years and the hobby still fascinates me to this day. There is really something magical about watching as a fish grows, matures and even multiplies that just keeps me interested even after all these years. Then again, I suppose that is why we are all on this forum! Anyways, enough of the sappy stuff - on to the tank!
For this build, I have decided to use an old 75g oak-trim tank and stand.
Remaining parts as follows:
Filtration - SunSun403B canister filter
Lighting - Finnex FugeRayII
Heater - Finnex HMO 300
Substrate - Play Sand
Pressurized CO2 with DIY inline reactor
I plan to dose dry fertilizers utilizing the PPS-Pro system.
I will do my best to monitor the progress with pictures, and as always, I have thick skin so feel free to critique equipment/design/methodologies as this progresses. The only bad input is no input in my opinion!
Bump: Thought I would post some initial build pics....
