This tank is 3 years old, but I think the only original stuff in it is the substrate, the java ferns and the crypts. The tank has been mostly neglected for the past year or so... I've been feeding the fish 4 or 5 times a week, adding fertilizer once or twice a week, and only doing a water change if I was having a party or something... So anyway, I had a good long think over whether I want to keep the tank or not, and I do. So, I'm going to be taking better care of it from now on!
To kick off this new era, I got a new Marineland double bright led light and a glass hood. (I previously had a single florasun fluorescent bulb, which I've kept and can put on the front of the tank if it seems I need more light... But I don't want to get into co2...) I pulled out a big tangle of mostly-brown moss and planted some of the bigger watersprites (which had all just been floating around.) So now I'm watching to see how things react to the new light, planning more plant cleanup, and gearing up to change 3 gallons of water every week or two.

I think the heater's 100w

Haven't settled on a photoperiod yet
Can't remember which substrate I got. I also wonder if it's too deep.
Flora (id help and corrections appreciated!)
Bits of moss
Possible hygrophila of some sort

I really want to get my plants growing well enough to offer some roaks!
