2.5 gallon rescape

So I finally rescaped my little planted nano, swapping the espei rasboras I had in there out to my 20 gallon, and putting some cpd in the 2.5.

I lucked out in finding the cpd at the lfs - they've NEVER had them in before, and said they hadn't ordered these - they'd come in by accident.

The little guys are horribly skinny, I'm hoping they all survive. They're picky little eaters, snubbing bbs and crushed flake, but accepting rehydrated freeze-dried tubifex.

Anyway, here are some pics (I just put the white paper in behind to boost light - the tank sits in a window sill so gets natural light as well as the 7.5 watts of CF lighting).

Full tank shot Before (ignore the floating stems)

Full tank shot after

Some pics of the fish (5 cpd) and shrimp (7 cherry shrimp)

(yes, the shrimp is that red, it's the brightest in the tank)

Very nice, I like the rescape. The big rock in the first pic was just too overpowering for such a small tank.

the dark green grasses on the left are called mondo grass or kyoto. (sometimes kyoto grass, but sometimes just kyoto. go figure!) it's not a true aquatic plant and will rot and die with time. If i were you i'd get some echinodorus tenellus to replace it.

other than that though, it looks great! i like the scape so far.

Oh really? damn! I thought it was microsword or something. That's the trouble with the lfs I get most of my plants from - it's got the best selection and cheap plants, but the staff (and even store owner) don't know what any of them are, so I occasionally wind up with a non-aquatic.
