12g long overkill

I've been meaning to put up a journal but haven't gotten around to it

Equipment:
Mr.aqua 12 gallon long
Fluval 106 canister filter
Coralife twist inline UV
Hydor 300w inline heater
GLA atomic inline diffuser
20lb co2 tank
Swagelok two stage regulator (from AlanLe)
Ecoxotic E-90
Ehiem 350 surface skimmer

Filter media:
100ml purigen
Seachem cuprisorb
Chemi-pure elite
Seachem matrix
Filter floss

Substrate:
14lb's Fluval shrimp and plant stratum

Fertilizer:
Osmocote plus root tabs
Seachem ferts macros, micros, and trace

Food:
Omega one color and veggie pellets
New life spectrum thera+A
Blackworms

Stand:
Custom made desk for my room, ultra enforced to hold over 1000lbs easy

Still need:
iAqua lite.

Side notes:
- I was worried about the filter not being strong enough but I measured about 121gph coming out of it so it filters my tank just over 10x per hour. the flow was a little weaker than I wanted but was fixed when I added in the surface skimmer.

- I usually keep the temp around 80degrees

- adjust ramp up and ramp down times to sunrise/sunset at least once a week.

-back of tank has limo tint on it

-Blackworms are in the substrate, I figure their waste will help fertilize plants and let the fish feed naturally.

Week 1 of journal!

I've been trying to put a current picture up for 20mins but Tapatalk freezes , will do later today from my computer

Current livestock:
1 CPO
1 bumblebee goby
3 ottocinclus
1 albino Cory
1 albino pleco
1 pea puffer
1 glass catfish
5 white cloud minnows
6 pygmy cories
Various snails

Current fauna:
Baby dwarf tears (trying to grow into a mat)

I'm still waiting on the regulator from AlanLe and I'm hoping once co2 is added growth will take off. Once there's nice thick growth I plan to add some cherry or crystal shrimp.

Have you used that Hydor inline heater before? I was looking to purchase one, but I read lots of bad reviews citing heater failure that either boils or freezes fish. I read that if the heater is not installed vertically it is prone to failure. You may want to readjust your heater, just in case.

I have an AQUARIUM.

Mine is installed diagonally and I've been using it for around two years and never had a problem.

If I were you I'd plug that hydor into a thermostat controller. They're about 30 bucks. I've read enough bad reviews of that to bet my own money than one day that hydors thermostat will stick on and boil that tank. Again, its your tank, but if your shrimp are expensive at all you could end up losing a lot more than 30 dollars. My 0.02

Sweet new Swagelok regulator custom built by Alan Le. Dual stage and everything. Only part that isn't swagelok is the solenoid valve. Waiting for the swagelok check valves to come in this week, in the meantime I'm using petco check valves. Should hold up for a few days

Need to get a better camera than just my phone. Right side of the tank. Planted Xmas moss and anubias. Hoping Dwarf baby tears will take off with co2 in the tank

Finally got a better full tank shot

Hoping to get an auto Doser and ATO soon. The e series light evaporates water pretty fast.
