Some pictures of the fish house

So here are a few shots inside the compound.

First is a rack with 6 ten gallon tanks, 4 eight gallon, 2 fifteen gallon and what will be 2 twenty tall tanks. This is in the main room. Where I had the press and graphics computers and layout tables.

Next is one of the 22 gallon breeder racks. Originally it was all plants but there are fish in them now. Holds 4 tanks.

55 gallon in what was the darkroom for photography. It's very narrow with the tanks. Wasn't bad when I was developing film and prints though.

The last shot you can see how narrow it is. That's a 29 with an old Aquamaster box and an old school air lift filter. Still works even though I bought it circa 1980.I've got some guppys I want to keep segregated.

So last weekend I cut all the wood and made the dadoes and dry fitted everything. Today I cleaned up the area and cut back the countertop and installed the rack. 2 more 22 breeders and a 40B in place.

39
40
and now 41.

Suckers keep multiplying. Just in time for our yearly mega auction in November. Yahooooooo.

Been a long time since I've updated this thread.

Well the fish house is getting a makeover. And it's getting a tad bit larger. Another 6' long while keeping the 14' width. Should get me another 20 tanks or so. As it progresses I'll post pics.

Hopefully.

100+ tanks by the end of the year.

Well I've started repairing the roof structure I put about years ago and never finished. Next month if funding is decent metal roofing over it.

I've decided to wall in the last 6 feet of concrete. That is a 6 x 14 section. 88 sq feet roughly. Should net me space for another 40 or so tanks.

Well it seems as though this is on hold for the present time. Here's the message I posted on another forum. This happened July 1st. And yes, I am getting better but it will be a while before I wield a hammer. The tanks all 30 will get their first water change in over a month tonight. I hope.

Last Sunday started out normal. Cut the yard. Parked the mower under the canopy instead of the shed because the battery needed changing. Went to the neighbors to shoot the breeze.
Went over to a friend that had a stroke a year and a half ago to visit. (Ron Bows) I try to visit as much as I can.
Came home and started the charcoal to do some ribs on the Weber. Took the top off and tossed it on the ground. Same with the cooking grate. Got the chimney full of charcoal going and went inside for 15 and to get the ribs.
Walked back out with the ribs in a stainless steel bowl with the tongs.
And I tripped over the grill cover.
Remember the mower I parked under the canopy?
As all my weight was falling forward I hit the tire sidewall with my forehead. Then my nose hit the sand.
And there I laid. I do remember saying on the way down "Oh [censored][censored][censored][censored]"
Intense pain as my arms landed under me.
I assessed the situation.
My legs? Can't move them. Can't feel them.
Arms? Intense pain and no movement.
I screamed but unless someone is outside you can't hear them.
So there I laid. Eating dirt pretty much. Bleeding from my mouth and nose.
And praying. If this was the end so be it. I am not afraid of dying just not ready for it yet.
Prayer works. I stayed calm. And kept trying to move my legs. Finally they responded. A little. Enough to turn on my side. But is was a slow process.
Finally I hear a screen door. Wife was coming out to throw the compost out.
So I yelled "Call 911" She's screaming "What happened?" I fell and need an ambulance.
Had to tell her the house numbers because she wasn't getting them right.
My first ambulance ride. In pain down a dirt road that hasn't been graded in a while.
EMTs were great. Had to grab my shirt and my belt and pull me upright. Then I walked to the ambulance. Told him to pull the damn thing up closer to the gate.
1/2 dose of Fentynal on the ride. EMT couldn't understand how I could take the pain. Offered the rest still refused.
Full dose of morphine at the hospital. No effect. Double dose. Nothing. No relief.
CT, shoulder X Ray, wrist X Ray. Nothing broken. Each time I had to get up off the gurney the orderly had to grab my shirt and pull me up.
ER Doc. So much pain and I was wearing down. Couldn't even touch my arms shoulders etc.
Discharged about 1 am
In a recliner for 2 days.
I can walk. But my arms were pretty useless. Wife had to do everything for me. By Thursday things improved a little and I was able to get to work to get a few jobs out. Went in Friday for about 5 hours.
Will see if I can drive tomorrow morning.
I can type a little bit but my arms still don't do what I want them to every time. Got to get an appointment with GP Monday and see about PT.
Thanks for listening. And yes, this did actually happen to me Last Sunday.

Man I'm sorry to hear that. Such innocuous circumstances and such catastrophic results. You would probably be better off with broken bones. They mend more completely and consistantly. I assume you haven't received a comprehensive diagnosis? I wish you a speedy and complete recovery. You dont strike me as someone who accepts defeat :-) I mean that as a compliment

Diagnosis is complete. I bruised a bunch of stuff badly. It will heal but it takes time. Healing is a process and I am about midway. I hope.

And I took it as a compliment. I don't like defeat. Just have to find a different way of doing it. Was out last night in the fish house trying to do exactly that. How can I move that room along and get the 22 tanks in there. The roof and walls and demo of the current back wall over the last 6 feet will have to wait till fall though. I estimate another 40 tanks there.
