First Aquascape 29 Gal

This is my first attempt at aquascape.

Set up
29 Gal Eclipse 3 with Hood
Florite Black substrate
Fluval 404
output on vinyl tubing thru rex rig 1/1/09
100 watt heater (74 deg)
Rex Rig
DIY CO2
Ebay drop checker

Planned additives
Flourish
Carbon Plus

Light
ODNA to the Eclipse 3 hood
Taken out - 60watt CF Spiral bulb (12/8/08)
added 100watt CF bulb 12/23/08
60watt CF Spiral bulb 1/1/09

Start light at 10am till 3 two hour siesta end light at 10pm
Tank is near a window so I my plan is to let the natural light start on the tank then hit it with the bulbs.

Inhabitants to come ( in another tank right now)

1 Plecostomus
1 Harlequin Rasbora
2 Trigonostigma espei
2 Oto's 1/5/09

Blyxa
Java Moss Fern
Pellia
something else I have not identified yet from a stream

Just a heads up...Mondo grass isn't a true aquatic plant. It is commonly sold as such, but it will slowly rot away in there. Don't worry, lots of us made the same mistake when starting out

Your rock reminds me of a giant arrowhead. I love it. I think the dwarf sag would be a great choice, too. I am not crazy about the small red rock, though. It is a little too distracting. Great start!

Without Algae, death of mankind would be inevitable.

This will cause unwanted algae...

Good start! Everyone's been giving good advice so far, but the only thing I want to add is that you should really try not mixing different kinds of rock like that. It makes everything look unnatural and out of place. It really, ultimately, doesn't even matter what rocks you use (provided they won't mess with your water chemistry, of course!), as long as they are the same kind of rock. Because even if you don't particularly care for the rocks, or the colors, or the patterns, you can plant some moss on them.

Good job so far!
